Neha & Sneha Shrestha: Mo:Mo (Nation Nepali theme t-shirts)

Most of us don’t live in the moment enough. If we take the time to think about things, we would see what we can build with what we are already equipped with.

Most of us don’t live in the moment enough. If we take the time to think about things, we would see what we can build with what we are already equipped with. Of course when we finally acknowledge the great idea right under our nose, it seems like the best match ever. Don’t think so? Meet Neha Shrestha, the brains behind MO:MO NATION, a social enterprise that she started with her sister Sneha and which produces a distinctly Nepali t-shirt line.

“Sneha filled her sketchbooks with crazy designs. What can one expect from an international artist like her,” says Neha when asked about the story behind starting the enterprise. She adds, “I always wanted to start a business. So when we jammed our forces MO:MO NATION was what came up.” MO:MO NATION is quite a name for a social enterprise, but it makes sense when relating to something that is native to Nepal.

“We are not sick of introducing Nepal as the country of Mount Everest in it. But the fact that momo is Nepali is true too!” She explains that she loves her idea because they already knew who they will be selling their designs to –the Nepali with a strong love for the country. They are already doing well in the US where they are a popular name amongst the Nepali student community.

“Combining my entrepreneurial mindset and Sneha’s belief that art should be a vehicle for social change, we’re making this magic come alive! Starting is difficult, but if you don’t you are also missing out on all the things you could do,” says Neha Shrestha.
