Heads Up for CIMA Global Business Challenge
Its not every day that a group of college students get to go on an all expense paid trip abroad where they get to represent their country and compete with national champions from 24 countries. In 2013, four friends from Ace Institute of Management got their chance to represent Nepal in CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) Global Business Challenge that was held in South Africa. CIMA, a UK based management accountant body, organizes the competition annually in one of 24 participating countries.
Although they did not win, the four friends, Shristi Mishra, Sagar Satyal, Subekshya Timothy and Bishesh Lama got the opportunity to build networks with individuals from big scale companies like Barclays and Unilever and also got to interact with the participants from other countries. This year, two of the previous participants, Shristi and Sagar are organizing CIMA Global Business Challenge in Nepal with hopes of providing same opportunities to other undergraduate students. Interested participants have to make a team of four with students from the same institution and submit a report as business consultants on the case study provided by CIMA. The winners of the national level competition will eventually get a chance to compete in the global scale in Poland in August this year.
